\nThe U.S. Department of Justice believes that the violent insurrection at the Capitol Hill building was an inside job. Now, Rep. Jim Clyburn is also sharing in the same belief, emphasizing that it\u2019s most likely that \u201csomebody on the inside\u201d aided the rioters.
\nSpeaking to CBSN anchor Lana Zak, Clyburn stated, \u201cI do believe that something was going on. They knew where to go. I\u2019ve been told \u2026 by some other Congresspeople that their staff are saying that they saw people being allowed into the building through side doors. Who opened those side doors for these protesters, or I call them these mobsters, to come into the building, not through the main entrance where magnetometers are but through side doors. Yes, somebody on the inside of those buildings was complicit in this.\u201d
\nThe rioters, who\u2019re\u00a0supporters of President Trump<\/a>, forced themselves into the building and disrupted the activities that were ongoing therein. They forced all the lawmakers, who were meeting at the building to count Electoral College votes, to evacuate.
\nThe FBI has already been dispatched by the Attorney General Jeffrey A. Rosen to investigate the insurrection on different fronts. According to Rollington, they need to \u201cidentify, locate and apprehend the seditionists; and to discover who, if anyone, contributed to the debacle from the inside.\u201d
\nThe ease by which the rioters entered the building and located different offices within the maze that\u2019s the building\u2019s interior begs for questions, not only to the FBI but also to some Representatives.
\nClyburn suggested that one of the telltales is that the mob seemed to have known their way around. He said, \u201cThe office with my name on the door was not touched. But the office where I do most of my work in, they were on that floor and outside that door.\u201d
\nOther than Clyburn, Rep. Steven Horsford, D-Nevada, is said to have the same belief. On a call to his colleagues, he shared his conviction that the insurrection must have been \u201can inside job.\u201d Sen. Nancy Pelosi\u2019s office was among those that were vandalized by rioters despite being one of the hardest to locate.
\nAccording to media reports, two high ranking officials and Capitol Chief Steven Sund resigned on Thursday, following the riots.
